You’re probably wondering what a Vogelkop Bowerbird is. Â I had never heard of them either until I saw them on Life, the latest Discovery Channel series. Â In this particular episode, they profile these Bowerbirds. Â The Bowerbirds win their mate by decorating their nest in different styles. Â Each bird uses different ‘knick-knacks’ from around the forest to create their own style. Â They are competing with several other birds in the ‘neighborhood’Â doing the same thing. So whoever comes up with the nicest, most attractive nest wins the buyer, I mean mate. Â So it appears the Vogelkop Bowerbirds are the original stagers. Â Maybe we could learn a lesson or two from these veterans, although I recommend leaving the deer dung outside.
I couldn’t find a way to embed the video here so you will have to go check it our for yourself.
This is soo funny, I never knew about these birds. Where do they live? We certainly should be learning something from these competitive birdies! Great post.
Nice and informative post on Bowerbirds…there is something very good lesson to learn from these birds…I have watched the LIFE video. It was nicely done. You are a nice coach who had guided us to learn something new to learn.
That’s hilarious! It’s funny how birds use color to attract mates. Although I didn’t catch whether it tends to be the males that do the decorating. With birds, I’m pretty sure it is almost always the male who puts on these flashy, colorful displays.
How very interesting that these birds do about the same as humans!! May the best house win the bidding process,
Good observation…i think this trend is already taken by real estate industry but only difference is that in real estate industry the buy has to pay more for the greater attraction.
Wow! Just love this post of yours I have been visiting so many real estate blogs this day and all of them are tackling about same thing, “How to”, Tips for”, etc., but what you posted in here for me is a unique one that for sure will win the eyes and mind of many readers.
A lot to learn from nature as always. A lot of little things make or break a deal, and there is a lot of instinct involved as well.
This is very interesting! Great take on staging- it is a very important part of the real estate industry! We all want to live in the very best- why wouldn’t these birds?? Thanks for sharing this!
I am totally agree with this post. The points you have considered is very much true.I like the example you have taken to explain the work of real estate agents.Great post.
This post is really interesting and funny, but the conclusion ” staging” is a very important part of the real estate industry. Thanks for sharing.
Real Estate Agents Learn From Vogelkop Bowerbirds really interesting one, well this is new thing to be learn. Thanks for sharing.
Great article! It’s funny how we can always find a situation in nature that reflects our own reality. Real Estate is a great industry for that simple fact- the strongest or best product will always win (sell) in the end.
Your post made my day! I never knew birds could think that way. I saw the video and I was amused with how the male bird tried his best to make his nest look pretty hot to the female Bowerbird. It clearly shows that human beings can learn a thing or two from these lovely creatures! You have such fresh perspectives….Great concept on “staging”!…..love your blog post 😉
Our Real Estate Virtual Assistants and Real Estate lead generation provide domain-specific services and professional real estate lead generation terminology with real estate va.
This would be good to show a single male who is considering the purchase of a condo. A new, stylish condo can ideed be a “babe magner.”
What a great comparison. Your post made me smile.
I think the female should have chosen the first bird who didn’t use deer dung to decorate his abode. Those little houses of seduction were awesome though! There were a lot of square inches in there!
Wow! too funny. I have always attracted my mate by acting stupid. It’s a good thing they don’t drive cars.
I like this site
thx
Very interesting. I agree with the earlier comments that this is applicable on the real estate indutry too. After all presentation is the most important aspect of the deal.
it was a very interesting to read this article.
Interesting and very educative. Doing our best to make our buildings attractive and impressive will aid us in estate marketing indeed. It reminds me of a community in South Africa where decorating your outer and inner wall determines how rich and influential you will be in the society. This interesting enough eventually propels you into affluence and prosperity.
This shows that the Master Maker has everything prepared for us to succeed- If we can study His work, just like the Vogelkop Bowerbirds, ants, etc.
Visual appeal is the first most important aspect to consider for getting anyone’s attention. Only after initial attraction can you take things forward.
Great post. I just found your blog today and learned that I need to help my sellers become Bowerbirds so that we can get their home sold. Now I just have to see which Buyers will enter the nest.
Interesting topic, but I never heard about these birds, but interesting topic. Thanks for sharing post.
this is such a informative article.
yes, i do agree that real estate owners should be like bowerbirds.,
i must say that even though there are animals they teached us values in life.. and now even in the field of real estate.
I saw this too in Discovery Channel. I was really amazed, I never thought that birds also do that thing. Yeah, definitely a real estate agent, and a businessman, can learn from them… lol…;))
Your doing great in this blog post .
Very nice information…… and thanks
So that’s where all the missing dryer socks are going. 😉
A nice change of pace posting…I wasn’t aware of Bowerbirds. Thanks for sharing.
Real Estate Agent must learn from Bowerbirds! Being an agent, you need to be good on public speaking and must be capable of convincing people.
Being successful in a real estate career isn’t “rocket science,” but it isn’t “as easy as falling off a log” either.
I never know anything about this vogelkop bowerbirds. it’s very interesting to know about vogelkop bowerbirds. Thanks for posting the video from discovery website. it’s very interesting to see these birds collecting flowers, leaves and other stuffs..
This is awesome. A great point to be made for any sales business. I had never heard of this type of bird but always love a good analogy. Thanks for the post!
It’s funny to draw comparisons between us and the animal kingdom. I wonder if these guys have to install jucuzzis.
Very informative, I had a great time reading some of your post.. keep it up!

Really great tips for the real estate dealers. I got new idea reading this article and sure I will try with my clients. Thanks for the great article.
Knick Knack Galore from the Bowerbirds!!! We could learn a lot:)……..
This is a different real estate article I have read. I have to agree that it is important to carefully stage a house especially if you are selling one. So Home sellers, be like the Bowerbirds.
To first time home sellers: Find expert home staging advice on the net. There are actually a lot. This will save you money and will definitely give you an idea on how to run things. You just have to invest time.
Wow good information you have shared here. In fact, Google makes it easy to find information on any subject. Well, keep and publish more interesting blogs
Funny but true information about Bowerbirds…!
